The cotton-like, silvery-gray leaves of garden sage lend a peppery flavor to foods when dried.

Aside from being the star seasoning for roasted turkey and stuffing, powdered sage can be tinctured or made into a strong infusion and used as a mouth wash and gargle or applied to the skin.
