Turkey rhubarb, also known as Indian rhubarb, Chinese rhubarb and da huang, is a different species of rhubarb than the one you might be accustomed to eating in a pie. Turkey rhubarb is also widely cultivated for its root, which contains a number of tannins, flavonoids and anthraquinone compounds, including aloe-emodin. It has potent medicinal properties that can help in various health conditions, such as menopause, weight loss, skin care, kidney protection, and cancer prevention.
May be prepared as tea, alone or in combination with other herbs.
